This year, Topher, Jared and I traveled to Omaha to watch Arkansas vs. Cal-State Fullerton, the opening game of the tournament. We left early in the morning, got lucky with parking since we are members of the Omaha Zoo, and waited in line for two hours to get our tickets. We were fortunate to get box seats three rows up from the field, right along the first base line near the Arkansas bull-pen.

The weather was great, mid 70's, partly cloudy and a slight breeze. Arkansas was a great team, hit very well off the Titans and their infield was really fantastic. They won the game 10-6. The boys and I had a great time. This is our first event like this since we are typically very cheap and I hate crowds. But this time with these boys was completely worth it. Rosenblatt Stadium is a great venue. See the panoramic pic below...

The boys spent their time watching the game, asking questions, and hoping for a foul ball to come their way. A few did make it to our section, but out of our reach by some measure. Probably good since adults rarely take children into account when scrambling for a $2.00 baseball.

Being so close to the bull-pen, we had great chances to see the pitching and catching staff up close. Jared and Topher also had a great time taking their own photos of the event. They wanted a signature, but none were given.
In all, we had a great time. A great new tradition for early June!
