New Year's Eve at the Rosenlunds

One of the largest gatherings in the Salt Lake Valley is the Rosenlund Family party on New Year's Eve. Not necessarily because its televised, or well-advertised. Its because there are so many darned Rosenlunds that gather there. But first, lets review the day....

After leaving Layton, Becky and I took the kids to visit Great Grandma (Marjorie) Rosenlund in Kaysville. We spent a few hours visiting with her, giving her information about Grand Island, our ward, jobs, school, and recent events. We told her about the funeral and burial in Layton, and that we had the chance to visit Grandpa's grave. The kids all sang a song or two for her, and then we joined her and her friends at lunch. Grandma showed off the kids to her lunch companions and we had a great time. The ladies were not very impressed with the lunch menu, but they loved the kids and we had a great time.

We bid farewell to Grandma and drove south to Mom and Dad's in Riverton. Anissa and Shane were already there, having just returned from a vacation in California. In time, all the kids arrived, including Allison, Kati, Marji, Annie, Brady, Keira, Zoe, Tiane (with Charel in tow) Sara's kids Eli, Jacob and Aizlynne, and finally David and Tristy with Bronson.

We spent the night eating whatever we could find on the counter, and playing "Mafia" a version of "Murder in the Dark". The kids had a ton of fun reading, watching DVDs and playing games. Everyone has had a great time, and we are all very excited about what the future 2008 will bring.
