Christmas in Nebraska

Well, we just finished our first Christmas in Nebraska, land of the Big Red. Our kids were kind enough to let Mom and Dad sleep in until 0700 hrs before we all went down and saw what Santa had brought by the house. Everyone was thrilled with the gifts, both given and received. After opening presents, Becky made a cinnamon roll tree which we took to my employees in the Dispatch Center. We found them at shift change and were able to sing a carol. I am really very grateful for these dedicated folks and the sacrifice they make to work on Christmas.

This is Matthew's first Christmas and we have been very excited to see him enjoy himself. He is not very aware of the gifts he received, but I think that he likes the fun everyone is having.

Daina was successful in getting a large assortment of play dishes, food, and baby/mommy items for her dolls. She was also the recipient of an assortment of items featuring the Disney princesses of all kinds.

Meile is the proud owner of a CD player and a (gasp*) Hannah Montana CD. I think I have heard the darn CD about 35 times today already. Better yet, we get to hear Meile crooning in her bedroom along to the music.

Christopher and Jared both received a large number of Star Wars figures and two ships. They have been saving the galaxy all day. All the kids are excited about their roller blades from Grandpa Roger and Grandma Leslie, and the new clothes from Nana and Grandpa.

Becky is enjoying her new cookware and she gave me an assortment of tools, including the "unnecessary" stud-finder (since she already found one), work tables, and some other fun stuff. She gave Zip Zaps to the boys and me and we are looking forward to racing around the house.

Its snowing now, a fitting end to a wonderful Christmas day in Nebraska. We miss all our friends and family and wish you all have a wonderful and Merry Christmas.
